Guarding, Consultancy and Training

Staff Training

All new guards undergo a minimum two day basic job training course, run to PADPAO specifications, and instructed by a highly qualified training instructor.

This course covers the general knowledge required for any security guard to operate competently and includes everything required to comply with SS7 Code of practice for static site guarding and mobile patrol services. The course covers the following topics:

• Basic Guard-Client Relationship Management

• Fire Safety & Prevention

• Emergencies

• Law on Arrests & Seizures

• Physical Access Control

• Searching

• Two-Way Radio Etiquette

• Security Report Writing

At the end of the course the security guard has to pass an examination on the subjects.

Further training will then be given to cover individual requirements for the site where they will be working. Any security guard/officer changing site must also complete this training.

The training includes:

• Layout of site and surrounding area

• Hazards on site

• Emergency procedures

• Tour of site

• Familiarization with security systems on site

• Telephone etiquette

• Any other tasks or equipment on your site that the security guard will be using

• On the job training, with an experienced member of   staff

This training will be given before the security guard/officer may commence duties on site. The duration of this training varies depending on the site and complexities of security systems and additional procedures on the site. Where possible training is carried out on the client's site.

UNIFORM

All security guards/officers are provided with a full uniform.

Our standard uniform consists of:

• White long shirts with black, white and red  embroidered SS7 Logo

• Navy tie

• Navy trousers

• Black sweater with company logo embroidered on front

• Personal protective equipment is issued such as EXPANDABLE BATON, 3-in-1 (Stun gun, flashlight, chemical spray), whistle and HANDCUFF.

SITE INSTRUCTIONS

We issue a set of Assignment Instructions written specifically for the site. The Assignment Instructions, in conjunction with any company security procedures issued by a client, should cover most eventualities for the security officers to perform their duties.

Information in the Assignment Instructions include:

• Personnel, emergency contacts and method of contact

• Details of the assignment and duties (Guard Manual for your company)

• Checking procedures

• Emergency procedures

• Equipment

• Special instructions

• Standing instructions

• Health and safety policy

The Assignment Instructions will be written after consultation with the client and will be submitted to them for their approval before issue to the security officers.
