Our Story


Access Eco Trekking Travel Ethiopia Tours is a trekking company located at the heart of Lalibela, Ethiopia aiming to provide a wonderful trekking, historical, natural and caravan tour in Ethiopia With the local community experience for travelers.


We were established as a professional trekking and travel company in 2012 by Wasihun Ayele (Kanu), a young, passionated man who loves and respects nature and loves how it displays the world about the beauty of the highlands of Ethiopia.


The Lasta mountains are another interesting place for everyone to discover the hidden beauty of Ethiopian northern nature. It is here where you can trek to the top of the third highest mountain of Ethiopia, Abuna Yosef, a prominent mountain near the eastern escarpment of the Ethiopian Highlands. At 4,260 metres (13,976 ft) it is the 3rd tallest mountain in Ethiopia and the 19th highest of Africa. It is located in the Lasta massif in the Semien Wollo Zone of the Amhara Region.


Trekking over mount Abuna Yosef offers authentic mountain hiking tours in the lovely environment of the highlands of Ethiopia.

Our mountain hiking tours over the Ethiopian highlands are very different one to each other and they are fit for all tastes: you can live more the adventure or enjoy a mild and comfortable experience.


Our Staff


Our Trekking guides and team members were born in Lalibela mountainous regions of North Wollo and have spent their childhoods travelling the endless trails of these parts of the country. Our staff has intimate knowledge of the terrain, the people, and the cultures you will encounter on your trek. With our years of experience and knowledge, it is our goal to provide a life time memorable tour and we set out an exciting but safe, independent and fully supported group Trekking.


Our Philosophy


We follow a social philosophy that seeks to be responsible to the society and the environment in which we work and live.


We believe in Eco friendly, Community based Tourism and 6% of our income goes to support a remote elementary school, so that we work the children of the local community to have their school supplies every year.


We also participate in helping the local people get a solar light to their living house in the countryside and we actively participate in community annual tree plantation program.


We are so interested and passionate working and helping the local artists (painter) with displaying their pictures to the world and we organize and host an art exhibition every holiday in lalibela.


We believe and accept the protection of natural resources positively, as our livelihoods will logically depend on the long-term persistence of these ecosystem services.
