China Electric Power Technology Import & Export Corp.

China Electric Power Technology Import & Export Corp. (CETIC in abbreviation) is a holding limited liability subsidiary of State Power Corporation of China, with registered capital of RMB 208 million yuan. It has more then 100 senior technical and management staffs, and has set up 23 branches at home and abroad, and possesses over 20 investment holding or share purchase enterprises.
According to statistics as of end of 1999, the total amount of assets of CETIC is RMB 550 million yuan. CETIC is a large state-owned transnational corp., with international project contracting, import & export trade and industrial development serving as its three big mainstays. CETIC has been issued by the Ministry of Construction, P.R.C., the Grade A Qualification Certificate of Principal Contractor of Works. In addition, quality systems in the fields of international project contracting and import & export trade have been certified to conform to Quality System Standard of ISO 9000 respectively.

CETIC has a history of about 40 years in engaging overseas water and electric power projects and has accumulated rich experience in engineering consulting, prospecting & survey and design, procurement of equipment, construction of works and operating & management. CETIC is considered as one of the leading corporations among the electric power industry in undertaking overseas economic technical cooperation. As of end of 1999, CETIC has completed more than 100 economic aid and technical cooperation projects in over 40 countries and regions, with a total contract value of RMB 1.3 billion yuan. Furthermore, CETIC has also completed over 300 contracted projects and labor supply services, with a total contract value of USD1.54 billion.

CETIC also participated, in an all round way, in the procurement of equipment of electric power industry of China for foreign funded projects. Besides the procurement through international tendering for projects funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international financing institutions as well as OECF, CETIC also carried out the import & export trade of non-complete set of equipment and materials. As of end of 1999, CETIC has signed more than 1130 contracts with a total contract value of USD7.57 billion.
