Sanmar has dominated the tugboat manufacturing industry for almost 4 decades. The company utilizes innovative technology and an expertly trained team of shipbuilders to build its tugboats, pilot boats, and work boats. In 2011, the company moved to a newly renovated state of the art shipyard which continues to serve a vital role in Sanmar's shipbuilding standards of addressing the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. It released environmentally friendly Hybrid and LNG tugboats to reduce diesel emissions. These tugboats run on a technologically advanced power management system which consolidates batteries, generators, and main diesel engines into one system. This system produces less emissions when the tugboats are not in operation or idling. Additionally, when the tugboats are in operation, this system reduces emissions of dangerous gases into the Earth's atmosphere by 40 percent. Sanmar has produced over 100 tugboats for international markets.
