China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT)

China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), subordinate to China Aerospace Corporation(CASC),  was established in 1957. It is the largest complex in China mainly devoted to the development of launch vehicle technology. CALT has the capability of design, development, production and test of launch vehicles and provide commercial launch services for worldwide customers.

CALT has 27,000 employees. Thirty percent of them are engineers and seven percent of them are senior engineers or scientists. Most of the technicians and administrators working in CALT were educated in universities or colleges. Some of them were educated in foreign universities or engaged in research work abroad. In addition, 50 students obtain master degrees and 15 students obtain Ph.D. degrees from CALT every year.
