i-Solarlite is a UK registered company that aspires to bring solar energy to every Indian and African rural house holds. Recently, the company has made itself proud by affecting the lives of over 50,000 rural populations across Indian villages.
The main products of the company includes 'i-Lite solar lantern' (at at price of Rs.660 or US$12) and a basic solar system (at a price of Rs.3800 or US$70). Recently, the company was in news due to converting one of the entire rural villages, of South Orissa, from no-electricity into solar driven lighting. Every household bought the solar lamp and has been using it successfully.
Presently, the company operates in Indian states of Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It further plans to expand the operations to other states as well.
