Goya was founded 75 years ago by
Prudencio Unanue, a Spanish immigrant to New York City who was missing the
flavors of his homeland and was unable to find familiar products at local
grocery stores. Unanue started in a small storefront in Lower Manhattan, New
York, catering to local Hispanic families by distributing Spanish foods such as
olives, olive oil and sardines. As more immigrants arrived in America from the
Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America, Unanue and his sons expanded
their business to meet the needs of these new consumers.

Today, Goya has grown to over $1
billion in annual sales, with 4,000 employees, 2,200 distinct products, 6
manufacturing facilities and 14 distribution centers in the United States, the
Caribbean and Spain. Despite the worldwide
crisis, Goya is still a 2 digits growing company.

Its secret: Goya creates prosperity to both its suppliers and clients to the
great advantage of its consumers.

Goya is now emerging as a truly
global business as well as a category leader. It is executing its expansions
plans, and flashing-back to its origins, launches
its GOYA® olive oil and GOYA® table olives lines at the conquest of

oil exporter (Source: Asoliva 2010) and Top 10 Spanish olive exporter (Source: Asemesa
2010).
