Company Description

Paqell was established by partners Shell Global Solutions
and Paques, a Dutch biotech pioneer with a 50 year heritage, to commercialise
the innovative yet proven THIOPAQ®desulphurisation technology in a
predominantly conservative industry.

If something needs done in the Oil & Gas industry it
usually gets one or more of following ingredients thrown at it: Science,
Chemistry, Energy, Equipment, Manpower.

At Paqell we believe in the Power of Nature:
find out what can be done by nature itself and just lend a helping hand to
create a competitive solution. Simple. Stable. Safe.

Our owners have spent the past 15 years perfecting a naturally occurring
process as old as Oil and Gas itself to bring you a better solution to take
sulphur out of your (natural) gas streams: THIOPAQ Oil & Gas

The THIOPAQ
O&G process was originally marketed by Paques to be used solely for the
treatment of Biogas, which is produced by anaerobic digestion of waste water.
Cooperation
with Shell International has led to further development of the process and
resulted in the THIOPAQ O&G process. Now we can apply the technology for
application at high and low pressure in the natural gas/petrochemical
environment at an economically scale for projects up to 150t/d sulphur.

THIOPAQ O&G benefits

Essentially complete H2S removal and recovery as elemental
S.

Special costly equipment such as burners and reboilers are
not required. The regeneration and sulphur recovery section always operates at
atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature.

Reliability of a natural process coupled with the efficiency
of dedicated engineering.

Simple process configuration and control with stable
operation.

Broad and flexible operating range with short system
start-up times.

Expensive chemicals such as those required for liquid redox
processes are not required. Only sodium hydroxide and nutrients are required.

Limited utility requirements.

Ease of operation. Produced biosulphur is hydrophilic and
behaves like a relatively stable suspension without clogging or other
nuisances.

Environmentally friendly process based on a naturally
occurring bacteria.

Inherently
safe operation:

no free H2S
downstream absorber

ambient temperatures for the whole system (solution
temperatures of 25 – 40 °C)

bioreactor and sulphur recovery at atmospheric pressure.

Produced biosulphur is the basis for a range of new
agricultural products designed to act as (ingredients for) liquid fertilizers
and liquid fungicides.
