The company commenced its operations in 1990 with the establishment of partnership named Yong Siang Hardware Trading. In 1994, TAIKO METALS SDN BHD was incorporated, to take over the partnership business.The primary activities are collection, trading and recycling of all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, industrial scraps, electronic scraps and transportation business.In 2014 we have started our new Copper Smelting plant at Tanjung Langsat Johor . At this new plant we are able to process 100 metric tonne of copper per day  which would be drawn into 8mm rod.

Cu-FRHC rod (furnace-refined, high-conductivity) produced  are 99.9 percent pure and meet American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) B-49 standards. Our products are commonly used to make power cables and building wiringWe manufacture 8 mm Cu-FRHC (Fire-Refined, High-Conductivity) copper rod. We use secondary copper to produce Cu-FRHC that’s commonly used to make power cables, building wiring, and many other electrical wire products.
Cu-FRHC can be also used for can welding as an alternative to Cu-ETP.
