The biofuel bricket from sunflower husk diminutive of Fr. brique briquette brickette the preform of fuel known also as patent fuel consisting of sunflower husk compressed into solid blocks without the aid of some binding material with natural lignin starch only. For making bricket the sunflower husk if previously washed is dried to reduce the moisture and if necessary crushed in a disintegrator. It is then incorporated in a pug-mill and softened by heating to a plastic mass which is moulded into blocks and compacted by a pressure in a machine.



The biomass brickets are made from agricultural waste and are a replacement for fossil fuels such as oil or coal and can be used to heat-boilers in manufacturing factories and also have applications in developing countries. The biomass brickets are a renewable source of energy and help reduce the carbon content in the atmosphere. Their principal use is as fuel for boilers the calorific value being about the same as or somewhat greater than that of coal.
