Goro organic agro business Private Limited Company (GOAB Plc) is a new firm, which is intended to supply organic products for both domestic and international consumers. The products include coffee, black pepper, meat goat, silk and costar seed.
The mission of GOAB Plc is to manage the firm as an efficient and profitable organic farm, maintain asset in a good working conditions, reduce debt and build equity. After thorough research in to the market opportunities, the initial business focus will be on, establishing the farm and paying off debts in the following 3-5 years. The long term goal of the company is to supply processed and semi processed organic agricultural products through out the Globe.
The campony is located in xxxxx head office is in the capital,Addis Ababa while the farm sites are in Oromia Region, Dollo Menna and Goro Districts of the Bale adminstrative zone. The total land area used during this first year is expected to be 2800 hectares.
The company will be self-sustaining by the end of the fifth year and conservatively expects to achieve sales of almost birr 76 million with net profits of over birr 30 million.
Production activities will begin from October 10/2007. For the meat goat, the first products will be expected after 3 months and for the silk & the castor, the products will be expected after six months. For the coffee and black pepper the products could be supplied after the end of the third year. As the rain fall is bimodal type, there is the opportunity to produce twice a year especially for the silk and castor.
