Shanxi Datong Gear Group Co., Ltd, founded in 1958 under the name of Datong Machine Tool Works and renamed as Datong Gear Works in 1964, is a key enterprise in mechanical industry and a manufacturer specialized in HD truck transmissions and engine gears. Currently, the company is affiliated to Shanxi State Owned Assets Management Co.,Ltd. During the period of the â??11th Five-Year Plan", the company is included as one of the large enterprises who enjoy preferential policies offered by Shanxi Provincial Government.

The company covers an area of 500,000 square meters with fixed assets of 554 million RMB and total assets of 980 million RMB. There are 2500 staff in the company. After continuous construction and technical innovation of more than 40 years, the company has formed annual production capacity of 120,000 HD truck transmissions and 600,000 pieces engine gears. Both transmissions and engine gears are appraised as famous brand products of Shanxi Province.

There are more than 350 engineers and senior engineers in the company. With enough research equipment, advanced technology and perfect quality and environment systems, the company got the certification of ISO9002 in 1997 and QS9000 in 2001. In 2004, it was certified to ISO14001. In 2005, it has passed the on-site assessment of ISO/xxxxx, the company has developed five major platforms for transmission R&D by absorbing and continuous improvement on transmission manufacturing technology introduced from Nissan Diesel for three times. Now, the 14 major series and more than 300 kinds of our products can fit for trucks and buses ranging from 2 ton to 30 ton. The company also jointly developed new product with our own intellectual property right and suitable for Chinese market with famous overseas company. The transmissions are mainly fitted into 500 kinds of vehicles for tens of OEMs, such as Dongfeng Motor Company, China FAW Group Corporation, China heavy-duty truck group and BeiQi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. The engine gears are supplied not only for domestic engine company, such as Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co.,Ltd, Shanghai Diesel Engine Company, FAW Dalian Diesel Engine Plant, but also for 8 Cummins engine plants in the world.
