ESCADA is the international luxury fashion group in women?s designer fashion. It has pursued a course of steady expansion since its founding in 1976 by Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley and today has nearly 440 shops and corners in more than 60 countries.
Under its two core brands, ESCADA and ESCADA Sport, the ESCADA Group sells women?s designer f
ashions for daytime, evening, business, leisure, sports and wellness activities, for special occasions (arts festivals, weddings), and couture.
The range of fashions is supplemented with accessories like handbags, shoes and belts. Fragrances, e
yewear, scarves, neckties and children?s clothing from licensed partners are also sold under the ESCADA brand.
Through
its subsidiary Primera AG, the Company additionally sells the Laur?l (bridge segment), Cavita, Apriori and BiBA (midpriced segment) brands. These lines of business are to be divested, with an orientation to value, as part of a divestment program. The fragrances division, ESCADA Beaut? Group, was sold at the beginning of April 2002. On November 1, 2003, the Company?s stake in F?raud GmbH was also successfully divested. A systematic focus on the ESCADA core brand and its sustained further development will safeguard profitable growth in the future.
