CITIC Guoan MGL

Located in Beijing Zhongguancun Science Park, CITIC Guoan MGL is primarily engaged in production of new composite metal oxide materials and lithium-ion secondary batteries. MGL is invested by CITIC Guoan Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Zhongxin Group (CITIC). CITIC Guoan Group has operations in such industries as information, new materials, comprehensive mineral resources exploration, tourism and real estate. Ratified by Deng Xiaoping, CITIC was founded in October 1979 by Rong Yiren, former Vice Chairman of the PRC. Through more than twenty years' development, CITIC has made a large-scale international enterprise group with total assets of 700 billion yuan.

MGL ranks China's largest manufacturer of lithium-ion battery cathode material LiCoO2, and stands first to market new cathode materials LiMn2O4 and LiCo0. 2Ni0. 8O2. Quality-oriented MGL has passed the certification of both New and Hi-Tech Enterprise and ISO9001: 2000. MGL's unique synthesis method boasts such merits as simple, efficient, energy-saving and environmental-friendly, producing cathode materials of superior electrochemical performances and reliability. Since incorporation, MGL has smashed the monopoly of foreign manufacturers in China's lithium-ion battery cathode materials market, now standing in the lead of the whole industry. Besides cathode materials, MGL also produces lithium-ion secondary batteries of high energy density and high capacity for power and energy storage, ranging from several Ah to several hundred Ah. As China's first and only power battery manufacturer, MGL stands in the world's lead to present high capacity lithium-ion secondary batteries, which have been successfully applied to Beijing Municipality's on-trial electric buses.

Ensuring sustainable and steady development, MGL has built up a modern research center in Beijing. MGL's R&D center, covering an area of 5, 000m2, is equipped with advanced analytical & testing instruments, such as SEM, XRD, ICP-AES, HPLC-MS, LPS, FTIR, SA and XRFS, and battery manufacturing, testing and assessing equipments. In MGL, New Energy Materials & Technology Laboratory (NEMTL) of Peking University focuses on synthesis methods of new materials and research on physical-chemical performances of materials, while MGL's R&D center has been working hard on product development and research on industrialization technology. Over the past five years, MGL's R&D team has published tens of science papers, applied for many patents, and realized the industrialization of several lab achievements. When carrying on the Corporation's research programs, the team has been undertaking many vital research projects of state and provincial levels. MGL's research staff has been granted First Prize of Beijing Science & Technology Award and Second Prize of National Science & Technology Progress Award for their achievement in technological development and industrialization.
