Company Description
Specifications:
Sample Storage Systems was formed in 1982 in Adelaide, South Australia, and at
the request of a local oil company, designed a permanent storage and library refernce system for oilfield drilling samples. A packing system was also needed to keep the samples together. The system was packaged to handle an average sampling requirement for an 8000 feet oil or gas exploration well. The small tray version consists of 102 sample trays or 510 samples and plywood storage box.
The system was designed to overcome several problems in sample collection and storage. The thin plastic and
paper envelopes previously used were found to be non transparrent for viewing purposes, often split, were lost and were frequently too bulky for efficient storage and easy access for in house geological reviews. The trays you see address these problems. The trays are manufactured in G. P styrene, which has excellent clarity for microscopic examination and fluorescence in oilfield samples can be reliably seen under ultraviolet light.
The larger tray,54 sample trays or 270 samles in the samples
in the same plywood storage box was manufactured after requests from mining companies who liked the concept, other uses we have heard are
Fossil collectors, embroiders, stamp collectors, coin collectors, prospectors amd mineral museums.
