Founded in 1981, with headquarter in Huizhou of Guangdong Province, southern China, TCL Corporation runs its business from multimedia to mobile phone, from personal computers to home appliance, from Electric Lighting to digital products, it also expends the business largely to overseas markets. In the past 23 years, TCL has been developing rapid but robust pace. In particular, when stepped into 90´s, TCL is delicated to turning their ideas to creative products and services that led a record of an average rate of 42.65% in growth for the past 12 years, becoming one of the China´s fatest growing companies. TCL has one company each listed in Shenzhen and Hongkong stock Exchange-namely, TCL Corporation(code: 000100) and TCL International Holdings Limited(code: 1070).

The Group recorded a revenue of RMB 28.2 billion yuan, a profit of RMB 0. 57 billion in 2003. After over two decades of growth, TCL has become one of China´s most valuable brands. In fact, the survey on most valuable brands in 2003, conducted by Beijing Brand Equity Evaluation Co Ltd has indicated that TCL´s brand equity is RMB 26.712 billion.

In July 2004 TTE Corporation ("TTE"), the biggest global TV manufacturer, jointly set up by TCL and Thomson, officially started operation in ShenZhen, China, which its business covers all mail markets in the world. Also, in April 2004, TCL Mobile has signed "MOU" with Alcatel to form a joint venture which is engaging in mobile phone development, production, sales and relevant services in the world.
