Xiangda Bide Chemical Engineering Technology Co. Ltd. (XBCET) is a shareholding company established by National Education Ministry's Research Center for Chemical Engineering Process Simulation and Optimization administrated by Xiangtan University. The main business of XBCET is the production and sales of pentachloropyridine, pentachlorobenzenitrile, a novel type of flame retardant―ethylene bis(tetrabromophthalimide) (BT-93W). The XBCET is headed by Professor Luo Anhe who is also Chairman of the Research Center and Vice President of Xiangtan University. The company has undertaken two national key special scientific projects and has obtained two invention patents.  In October of 2003, it was named as one of the top high-tech enterprises in the country. XBCET currently enjoys an AAA credit rating from the banks.

XDBCET boasts
its powerful technical expertise, advanced R&D capability, and strict quality control and assurance system. It is also equipped with the state of art production facilities.  Its products have been exported to many countries like European countries, USA, South Korea, Japan, India and Southeastern Asian countries, and it has enjoyed a high reputation in the domestic and international markets. Among the products, pentachloropyridine and ethylene bis(tetrabromophthalimide) have won top honors like Hunan Provincial Inspection-Free Products, Gold Prize from China International New Technology Exhibition, Gold Prize at China New and High-Tech Exhibition.

XBCET is a market oriented company with strong R&D focus in pharmaceutical and agricult
ural chemical intermediates and polymer additives such as flame retardants. With experience of tackling some strategic industrial projects, XBCET?s core competency is its R&D teams consisting of Principal Scientists and staffed with mostly PhD?s and MS graduates. Among the present staff, there are 18 Principal Scientists, 30 Senior Engineers, and 16 Engineers.
