Company Description

We mainly work in the design and manufacture of Yunjin. At the same time, we also produce clothes and other adornment based on it, including neckties, handbags, purses and etc.

Our Brocade products are designed elaborately by famous artists and woven manually by large size wooden looms inherited from traditional folk technology. The products are elaborate, splendid and elegant which best reflect the graceful nature of royal fabrics. They are the prefect combination of traditional technology and Chinese culture, and therefore, is superior in brocade arts.

Dating back to Yuan Dynasty and prosperous in Ming and Qing Dynasty, Nanjing Brocade, represents the top technology and most characteristic silk fabrics in traditional Chinese silk fabrics arts. Because of gold and silver decoration of patterns, Nanjing Brocade, ever being the fabrics for ancient royal courts, was as beautiful as the splendid clouds in the sky, and thus got the name of  "Yun"
which means clouds.

Ever since the 13th century, emperors in various dynasties had official fabrics bureaus in Nanjing established (ShenBoTang, Looms Supply Bureau and fabrics bureaus  in Jiangning) specifically for the requirements of royal families. One of China's four most prominent works, "Stories of Red Chamber" gives detail introduction of Nanjing Brocade. And four ancestors in three generations of the author  - Cao Xueqin were appointed as executive officials of Jiangning Fabrics Bureau in Qing Dynasty for 65 years.

The Brocade described is woven by big wooden looms 5.6m long, 4m high and 1.4m wide operated by two workers, on above and one below. The person sitting on the loom pulls the thread in line with threading sequence while the other sitting on the lower part of the loom twines the pattern and weaves the materials into Brocade with golden and colored threads. It is such a complicated technology that two workers can only complete about 10cm one day. And till now,  the wooden looms can't not be replaced by modern machines because of its complexity. Therefore, they are called  "iving fossil"  in China's fabrics technology.
