For a long time, Damyang Changpyung has been famous for rice taffy and grain syrup. Damyang Han-gwa's MyungJin Foods officially started production in 1997 when it became designated as a traditional food. Through a traditional method that was passed down from generation to generation in family recipes, the delicious taste of Han-gwa and rice taffy became famous by rumors, which became the origin of business. During this time Han-gwa has received good reviews while participating in several festivals such as the Nakan Food Festival and has received intensive media coverage on programs such as "6 o'clock My Hometown", "Experience Life". Damyang Han-gwa MyungJin Foods is a professional business that specializes in Han-gwa, Kelp, taffy, various rice cakes, Yibaji (food offered by the bride to the bridegroom family before the wedding), Pae-baek (foods offered to the parents of the bridegroom by the bride at the wedding).

At our 1999 national agricultural product exhibiti
on, our product received the Presidential Award for furthering the development of traditional products. At the Kwangju Region Tax Service we have been designated as a business promoting traditional culture, in South Chunnam Province as a promising Small & Medium Business, and from the Small & Medium Business Administration as a promising business for exports.

In 1999,
we exported our products to America, and in 2001 we received the "Best Product" award from the KSA(Korean Standards Association) in the Han-gwa snack/Rice taffy/Kelp category.
