Fresh Fruit Development Project, Kozard, Hungary. The project site is located in a triangle of Paszto-Kozard and Ecseg villages in Nograd county, Hungary, approx. 80 km North-East from Budapest, on the Motorway 3/Nat.Highway 21. The area is surrounded with mountains, forests and pastures, and clean of any industrial and chemical pollutions. Its fruit growing traditions, climate and soils make the project area suitable for fresh fruit production, specifically for apple, stone fruits (sourcherry, cherry, apricot, plum, almonds) and berries. The area is also suitable for organic/biological (chemical-free) agricultural production. The land is exclusively owned by private farmers.

With substantial investment, the Agroser
vice Group established a water reservoir on the ?Kozard? stream, which holds 144,000 cubic meter irrigation water, suitable for a year-round drip irrigation of 300 hectares
